The Indian Institute of Finance (IIF) was established in 1987 by the Jyoti Foundation, a Public Charitable Trust duly registered u/s 12A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 at Ashok Vihar Delhi. The IIF is a non-profit, equal opportunity research-based educational institution that aims to promote education, research, training, and consultancy.

It has made distinguished scholarly contributions that have been acclaimed nationally and internationally. The IIF is unique, emerging center of excellence, a base for scholarship and high-quality professionally oriented education, research, and training.

The IIF Alumni holds senior positions in Banks, Financial Institutions, Corporate, Governments, and Academia. The IIF has signed 35+ MOUs with universities worldwide.

The Jyoti Foundation/IIF has established two institutions to promote education: the IIF Business School in 1999 (previously affiliated to GGS Indrpratha University, Delhi, and presently affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow since 2019) and the IIF College of Commerce & Management Studies in 2016 (affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut since 2016).

The mission of the IIF is to be a center of excellence, a base for scholarship, high-quality professional education, research, training, and consultancy. It aims to contribute to the process of nation-building by developing necessary human resources with highly specialized financial skills and through research.

The IIF also aims to help increase the global competitiveness of Indian industry and India by providing the international financial perspective and database.
